Expert Guidance Every Step of the Way
We work with registered geological engineers who perform the soil and percolation testing, so your system meets local requirements and works for years to come.
Septic system installation
Installing or replacing a septic system is a big project. We keep it clear from the first site visit to the final grade, and build it to last.
We are not a general plumbing company. We do not clear household drains, repair faucets or build retaining walls. Septic installation, pumping, maintenance and repair are the only things we do, and we own the equipment to manage the whole project, from excavation through final grading.
Every installation follows California codes, local regulations and the recommendations of the licensed geologist or engineer on your project, so the system works as intended from the first day.

We work with registered geological engineers who perform the soil and percolation testing, so your system meets local requirements and works for years to come.
Every property is different. The engineer designs the system for your site, whether it is a new install or a replacement, and we build it exactly to that design.
Once testing is done, you get a detailed estimate based on the engineer's recommendations, so you know what the project involves before we start.
Planned equipment routes, ground protection and careful work keep disturbance to your landscaping as small as the job allows, and the site is cleaned up when we finish.
We drill new seepage pits and install leach fields, choosing the rig for the spot: a low drill near power lines, tracked equipment on hillsides. About seepage pits.
Minimizing property disruption
Installing a septic system means excavation, heavy equipment and moving a lot of soil, so the ground will be disturbed for a while. The real question is how that disturbance is managed. For us, an installation is not finished when the system is in the ground. It is finished when the site is backfilled, graded, cleaned and left in the best condition we can manage.
The core of your system
A septic tank has to hold up to water pressure, the gases a septic system produces, and years of shifting soil. Some tanks are made with thin walls or single-layer molding and can deform under those conditions, and a compromised tank can crack or bow.
Wherever site conditions and local regulations allow, we install Roth multi-layer septic tanks, blow-molded from high-density polyethylene (HDPE). The seamless one-piece build reduces the risk of leaks, the material is not affected by septic gases, and the multi-layer wall resists deformation in demanding soil and high water tables. Roth backs them with a manufacturer warranty. Where a concrete tank is the better fit, we install a high-quality concrete tank that meets the project's requirements.
Piping
A septic system depends on gravity and the right pitch. If the pipes between the house, the tank and the drain field sag, crack or shift, the system can back up. Some installers use lighter-duty SDR-35 pipe. We build every system with commercial-grade Schedule 40 PVC, whose thick, rigid walls stand up to ground movement and heavy loads on the surface.
Compare before you decide
The lowest price today is not always the lowest cost over the life of a system. A failed system means more excavation, landscape repair and disruption. Use this guide to see what each proposal actually includes.
| What to compare | The Advanced Sanitation standard | What to ask about other proposals |
|---|---|---|
| Installation expertise | Dedicated septic installation specialists | Verify the installer's septic installation experience and qualifications. |
| Septic tank quality | Roth multi-layer HDPE or concrete tanks, depending on the application | Ask what type of tank is being installed and why it was chosen for your property. |
| Piping material | Commercial-grade Schedule 40 PVC throughout the entire system | Ask whether Schedule 40 PVC, SDR-35 or another piping material will be used. |
| Property protection | Ground protection plates, designated equipment paths and thorough site cleanup | Ask how your landscaping and property will be protected during construction. |
| Installation practices | Quality materials and installation practices meant to last | Ask how slope, compaction and installation quality will be checked. |
| Long-term value | A system planned to keep future maintenance costs down | Weigh the materials and workmanship, not just the first number on the bid. |
Building a new home, replacing a system that has failed, or just starting to plan? We help homeowners, contractors and property owners across the county, and we know what makes each property different: the soil, the space, and the county permits and inspections.
We install across Ventura County, including Somis, Camarillo, Moorpark, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Ventura, Oxnard, Ojai, Santa Paula and Fillmore. See every area we serve. Financing is available for qualifying installation projects; ask the office for details.
Yes. We install new and replacement septic systems across Ventura County. A registered geological engineer performs the soil and percolation testing and designs the system to local regulations; we estimate from that design and do the full installation.
Site evaluation and soil and percolation testing by the engineer, permits, excavation, setting the tank, running Schedule 40 PVC, installing the leach field or seepage pit, risers on the components, backfill and compaction, final grading and cleanup, and the final inspection.
We start by finding out which parts have actually failed. If the tank is finished but the seepage pit or leach field still works, we replace the tank and keep the rest. If more is needed, we coordinate the engineer, permits and installation and handle the final inspection.
Septic systems are all we build. We own the equipment for the whole job, install Roth multi-layer tanks or concrete where that fits better, run Schedule 40 PVC throughout, protect the property with mats, plates and planned access, and finish with careful backfill, grading and cleanup.
